"A very dark beautifully pigmented dog, completely masculine, and a true working type dog. Beautiful layback of shoulder, excellent extension, deep bodied with moderate rear. Sound coming and going. Tremendous forechest, slightly long in loin and short in croup. Could be stronger over the back. Not the most handsome dog in the world, but to me typifies a working animal that could go all day and do the job he was bred for."
