GSDC of Austin, Inc. --- April 16, 2005 --- Open Dog, Winners Dog & Best of Opposite Sex "He stood out in a quality class. Breed type, masculine, coat, color, good bone, short hocks, nice croup, good expression and dark eyes. Down and back he was true. From the side, he was outstanding - extending impressively at both ends with an uphill top line. He was very smooth and easy, yet powerful. What really got me was his beautiful suspension. Practically a perfect dog, except for one thing; he had a very bad habit of carrying his beautiful tail very high as he moved around the other dogs; which was very distracting, at first. This behavior, with a dedicated effort on the part of the handler, improved enough as the class wore on, that I reached the conclusion that I had to ignore the tail and reward this magnificent dog. There are times when a judge feels very alone in the center of the ring, and this was one of those times for me. What really sealed it for me (however and I don't usually make representations about a dog's temperament based on the loose lead exam) was that it was obvious that this dog was really mentally sound. I felt even better about my decision when after the show I was told that two of my puppy class winners, including my Best Puppy, who both displayed beautiful temperaments, were sired by him. I made the statement when I called home that this was a dog worth breeding to. I believe this win gave him his first points." ~ Robert E. Drescher 2006 Register of Merit Sire
