The Centennial is an Anniversary Celebration

The Centennial in 2013 is an anniversary celebration recognizing the beginnings of what is now the German Shepherd Dog Club of America in 1913. 

Each of the various events held during the  Centennial Celebration will  be covered  by sponsorships and personal donations.

A Victory Dinner and More

The GSDCA always has a victory dinner at the conclusion of the National Specialty Show.  The banquet room has been reserved and the facility has GUARANTEED us the same food prices as they have this year for 2013 !!   Their prices are quite reasonable and you will find the facility beautiful with excellent service.

In 2013 (the 100th anniversary of the GSDCA), the Centennial Committee is planning to have extra attractions such as a dance and band after the usual victory dinner.  The committee will be soliciting donations for the expense of the band and dance. The Centennial Committee is also planning a celebration at the Host Hotel on Friday night which will honor our breed which continues to serve all of us via the Military, SAR, and various types of Assistance Dogs.  We will honor the 5 branches of the military and their currently deployed MWDs.

100 Years of History

Thanks to the hard work of the Centennial Committee and especially Tom Brown we have discovered a wealth of information about our founders.   The physical display at the 2013 Centennial will encompass the founding of the breed in German and the US.   
As some of you know, I have been involved in Hotel Management for years, including managing large banquets, dinners, cocktail parties, special rooms and other special events.  As such, I am very familiar with the requirements and ‘ins and outs’ of these types of events.

Accommodations

Since the host hotel is dog friendly and many of the 2013 exhibitors will be able stay at the host hotel, the hotel is willing to work with us on pricing of rooms and food.
