The Educational Program at the GSDCA NATIONAL SPECIALTY will be an Agility Invitational, Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 7 PM at the Davis County Events Center- Indoor Arena with Judge Lisa Rieves.

The page “Educational Programs for Local Clubs” has been redesigned to add the seminars (YTD) for 2010 that have been held throughout the country. The statement below has been added. There is a list of other resources here also including the GSDCA-for-AKC sheet and the judges’ seminar booklet as well as some articles written about the GSD.

Articles for Publication

An excellent article written by Steve Barbash has been published in both the GSQuarterly and the AKC Gazette. “Correct Temperament Evaluation".

An article on the Breed Survey KKL will appear in the German Shepherd Quarterly.

Showsight magazine published two articles “Judging the German Shepherd Dog” Helen Gleason and Steve Barbash’s article on the “Loose Lead Temperament Test”.

Judge’s Education Seminar-held at the GSDCA National in Utah has 10 applications submitted to date from people planning to apply for the Breed and 1 GSDCA member (free) to audit. We have a great list of speakers this year:

• Intersex judge Barbara Amidon
• Gloria Birch and Cappy Pottle

This will take place at the show grounds on Thursday beginning at 12 noon. We will need dogs for the hands-on portion.
