GSDCA Membership Code of Conduct
This Code is established in accordance with the objectives of the GSDCA to protect and advance the interests of German Shepherd Dogs.
  • Each member will be familiar with the GSD standard as approved by the GSDCA and The American Kennel Club.
  • Each member agrees to abide by the GSDCA by-laws, the GSDCA Membership Code of Conduct, the Rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
  •  All members will conduct themselves at all times in such a manner as to reflect credit on the sport of purebred dog showing and German Shepherd Dogs in particular.  This includes respect for the show site and all other aspects of responsible dog ownership.
  • Member’s dogs will be an asset to their community.
  • No GSD will be sold to wholesalers or retail stores for the purpose of resale.  No GSD will be sold, leased, or offered at stud to franchised commercial facilities, businesses, or agents thereof.  No GSD will be sold or donated to a research laboratory or offered as a prize or sold at auction.
  • Members who contemplate breeding a litter, or who allow the use of their stud dog to the same end, will direct their efforts toward producing dogs of exceptional quality, temperament, and condition and should sign the GSDCA Breeder’s Code of Ethics.
