  • Any German Shepherd Dog is eligible when they turn twelve years old, GSDCA membership is not required
  • Qualifying dogs nominated by their owners with the required information will receive a certificate of recognition.
  • The purpose of the 13 Club is not only to recognize our “super”seniors, but to try to discover which factors may have helped them along the way. The goal is to try and identify any bloodlines, diets, home management, or activities that lead to helping extend the lifespan of our dogs.
  • In addition, each year all new Thirteen Club members will be listed in the Nov/Dec issue of the GSD Review.
  • The dog must be living on January 1 of the year in which the application is made.

Please notify us when your Thirteen Club member passes away. You will have received the 13 Club Final Questionnaire at the time of your membership acknowledgement, but the questionnaire can also be found on this page. Please fill this out and return it to the club chair.  Then the GSDCA will send you a beautiful certificate memorializing their journey over the Rainbow Bridge.
