“Began working with dogs in law enforcement over 20 years ago.  Was certified with her first German Shepherd as a drug detection and patrol dog team in 1997.  Hallie enjoys helping other handlers train their dogs so much she completed her certification as a Canine Trainer and in 2002 went on to be certified as a canine team evaluator. Moving to Idaho in 2003, she developed a training program and grew the canine program for the agency that she worked for.

Hallie got involved in showing her German Shepherds in conformation in 2002.  She also competes her dogs in obedience, rally, herding, tracking and schutzhund.

Having lots of requests over the years from dog sport enthusiasts to train them on scent detection, and being really excited to see an arena for competition.  In 2015, she began training students who wanted to participate in Nose work.  Was approved as a judge through NACSW in 2017 and has since been licensed to judge Scent Work for AKC when it starts in October of 2017.  She is thrilled to be a part of this sport!”

Presenter – Kristin Brooks Jones

Kristin Brooks Jones has been training and showing German Shepherd Dogs in AKC Obedience since 2003 and has since expanded the venues in which she competes to include tracking, agility and IPO.  She currently owns and shows three GSDs, including Heka the 2017 and 3x GSDCA Obedience Victrix and the 2017 Agility Victrix.

Kristin believes that success in any venue begins with a strong relationship between the handler and the dog.  In this seminar, Kristin will focus on games that enhance the engagement between dog and handler and that promote better, more precise heeling, fronts and finishes—the foundation of all obedience.

Presenter – Michelle (Chelle) Schumann DVM

Is a 1990 graduate of the University of Minnesota college of veterinary Medicine in St. Paul, Minnesota.  I then practiced in Albuquerque New Mexico for 15 years first as an associate veterinarian and then served as Medical Director in several related specialty practices in the area.  My career has since taken me to the beauty of Montana where I have practiced emergency medicine as well as some general practice for the last 12 years.

My love of the German Shepherd Dog began before I was school age as my father was a border patrol agent with a working GSD in southern New Mexico.  Since then I have been blessed with “the best dog in the world” many times and they are all remembered with love and a smile.  My current dogs are my service dogs and are a mother daughter team, Violet and Beel who are multi-talented and titled in agility, herding, barn hunt, tracking, and dock diving.
