SV/WUSV Member Clubs Guidelines, Applications & Renewals
The German Shepherd Dog Club of America offers the opportunity for groups of enthusiasts interested in SV and WUSV sanctioned trials, shows, breed surveys and seminars to form local member clubs.
Requirements to Form and Maintain a GSDCA SV Programs Member Club:
- A minimum of five members that are also GSDCA members.
- A president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and training director. A member can only hold one office.
- All members are required to maintain membership in GSDCA.
- Club bylaws.
- Club liability and personal injury insurance.
- Every approved GSDCA SV Program club must have one club event per year. Events include: Conformation Show, Trial, Breed survey, WB, Educational Seminar, Helper Seminar and Certification.
Training Director Qualification Requirements
- Successfully trained and titled either one dog to IGP3, or two dogs to IGP2, or three dogs to IGP1.
- Should have extensive knowledge about dog behavior and training principles, and can demonstrate the ability to teach.
- Performance GSDCA/SV judges are automatically qualified to perform as Training Director.
Application Requirements
Complete and submit to the GSDCA/SV Programs Office a GSDCA Member Club Application along with the following:
- Proof of credentials for the Training Director candidate.
- Proof of club insurance naming GSDCA as additional insured with address 7799 King Memorial Rd, Mentor, OH 44060
- Copy of club bylaws.
- One year’s Member Club Dues.
Newly forming clubs may be required to host a supervised affiliation show or trial. The affiliation event may be judged by a GSDCA Performance Judge, a WUSV-Certified Breed Judge, the Director of Trials and Judges, the National Training Director, GSDCA SV Programs Breed Warden or another individual approved by the GSDCA SV/WUSV Programs Committee.
Once approved, a club may apply to host a sanctioned event. Every approved GSDCA SV Program club must have one club event per year. Events include: Conformation Show, Trial, Breed survey, WB, Educational Seminar, Helper Seminar and Certification.
