That’s why the AKC Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC) program was created: an expert-made training program designed to help you and your dog be the best good citizens you can be – together.
Canine Good Citizen teaches the practice of using good manners to dogs and their owners with a series of inter-related skills:
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Out for a walk
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit and down on cue
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distractions
- Supervised separation
